get in touch giveback

There was a time when I could walk down the grocery store aisles without making a personal connection to the significance of those pink ribbons plastered on packages of paper towels and cereal boxes. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. Over the years, I have had several friends whose bravery in the face of breast cancer has altered my reality forever, giving new meaning to those ribbons and more power to the color pink. GIT Daisy

But "Hope Lives!", as my friend, Mary Ann Wasil Nilan, says. And she should know. She's a breast cancer survivor and the founder of the Get In Touch Foundation (GIT), a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching girls in grades 5-12 the importance of, and how to do a breast self exam — for life. Mary Ann has become a very special friend whose enthusiam for life, commitment to educating and empowering young people and just flat-out fearlessness has been such a source of inspiration to me. I know you'll feel the same way when you "meet" her at the GIT site.

In this spirit of hope, WIBN is proudly supporting GIT with a 10% give-back donation for each of the items on this page when you type GIT Giveback in the comments box at checkout. Your purchase will help GIT provide "daisy wheels" — GIT's key educational tool — to girls. Our give-back includes "pinkware" and any women's and girl's short-sleeve and long-sleeve Ts featuring the "daisy" — a symbol of optimism we share with GIT.
